A caravan exploded in the inland mining city of Mount Isa in Australia, tragically killing a man and his two children. It was later ruled a double-murder suicide by police. I was hosting an ABC morning radio show at the time and broke the news. After I came off air I took photos, updated social media, recorded interviews with witnesses and attended press conferences. I also coordinated with other ABC teams to make sure the news was on every platform on the day of the incident and afterwards. My initial story was the second most viewed story on ABC’s news website.

This was a chilling account of a woman who was assaulted by her former partner in Queensland, Australia. I interviewed Kerri about her experience and it was not only featured on local, but also on state-wide radio.

I will go to extra lengths to get a story. In Outback Australia I paddled through a muddy waters to become the 2015 female bog snorkelling champion. I also recorded the adventure.
